Our Good Movers head out on some seriously fun adventures and love to share their stories and photos with the Rider Network, our Lug+Carrie community on Facebook.
Recently Kate and her family took their HSD “Radford” back to her hometown of Stawell, VIC, and then onto the Grampians Rail Trail. Here’s what she had to say about the trip:
“In early January, I took our “Radford” on the VLine train to Ararat, then the back of Dad’s ute onwards to my home town of Stawell. My husband and five year old went in the car. We turned a few heads around town!”
“The best part of the trip was cycling the ~30km Grampians Rail Trail to Halls Gap. I was on Radford with my son on the back and while my husband tried to keep up on his regular bike. ‘Nana’ and ‘Pop’ joined us there for lunch before we returned back the same way.”
“Mr five was adamant he’d make it back on the bike, but fell asleep halfway home! So my Dad/Pop taxi-returned to collect him before we continued homewards. Not before we’d spotted 4 echidnas though!”
“After the weekend, I returned to Melbourne via VLine and cycling again. I’m definitely keen to do this again, but maybe with a spare battery next time. I typically cycle only in Tour mode but had to charge in Halls Gap where there was a power outlet at the BBQs (thankfully!).”
