An eBike is just like a regular bike, but it includes an electric motor that is powered by a rechargeable battery. The motor provides pedal assistance, which makes carrying a large load, heading up hills, or riding into the wind (or all of the above) a lot easier.

Lug+Carrie eBikes have four different levels of pedal assistance, which allow you to get as much or as little help as you want. The motor makes it easy for you to carry loads like kids or groceries, or to get where you’re going without getting overheated and sweaty. Ultimately, eBikes help you to do more, ride more, and ride further.

Yes! All Lug+Carrie eBikes meet all local and international standards for power, speed and pedal assistance. 

The maximum assisted speed of all our eBikes is 25km/h. All our eBikes are pedal assist only and do not have throttles. 

The maximum continuous power output of all of our eBikes is 250 watts.

Riding with passengers (like wobbly kids) can seem daunting if you’ve never done it before.

All Lug+Carrie eBikes can carry between 1 and 3 children and are built to make this easy.

Sydney was made for eBiking with hidden bike paths and quiet streets right under your nose. But, if you’re new to two wheels we know you might be wondering where to start.

We operate all over Sydney, but there are a few differences in the subscription depending on where you live. 

For customers who live within 20km of our shop at 4/51-53 Bourke Road, Alexandria, we include:

• Free delivery at the start of each subscription and pickup at the end.
• Free on-site servicing, where we make minor repairs at your house, while you wait. 
• Free delivery and pickup for any service that needs to be completed at our shop.

For those who are outside the 20km radius from our shop in Sydney you may still able to get a subscription, however there are a couple of differences:

• we will quote a price for deliveries and pickups based on where you live.
• we do not offer on site servicing.
• we will need you to bring your bike to our shop at least once a year for regular maintenance.
• bike and accessory swaps will be completed at our shop

Right now, yes, you can take your Lug+Carrie eBike on Sydney trains. Many of our customers use this as a way to break up a longer commute.

There is a lot of talk about eBike safety right now. The NSW government is introducing new product certification regulations in February 2026.

All Lug+Carrie eBikes meet existing NSW regulations and will meet the incoming ones too.

So, if you’re a customer, you can keep riding and catching the train just as you are.
