We want you to always feel confident on your eBike. That’s why we’ve included bike insurance as part of your Lug+Carrie subscription.
As long as your bike is locked, stored, and used correctly, you’re covered for theft and damage. If something does happen, the most you’ll pay is a $500 excess. If locking or storage requirements aren’t followed, you may be responsible for the full value of the bike to learn more, check out our T&Cs.
Purchased your bike instead of subscribing?
Please note that insurance is not included – you’ll need to arrange your own cover.
You will be asked to pay a $200 deposit as part of the application process. Your deposit will be refunded when you decide to return your eBike.
Subscription payments will be automatically deducated from your bank account on a weekly basis.

Because we cover all the ongoing maintenance and replacement parts, we only use the most reliable, long lasting and safe products on the market.
Buy new: Get the latest models and features, delivered to your door, with ongoing manufacturer support
If you already know a thing or two about eBikes, you’ve done your research and know that Bosch is the best of the best, you might consider buying. You’ll have access to all the latest features and models, as well as your pick of colours and when your bike arrives, it’ll be fresh out of the box. One of our specialist Tern team will put it together, deliver it to you and do a personalised handover.
Buy refurbished: Same Bosch reliability for less. Warranty and tune up included. Avoid the pitfalls of Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree!
If you’re on a budget or you won’t ride enough kms to justify the cost of subscribing or buying new, refurbished might just be for you. You’ll be getting the same top quality with the peace of mind that it’s been serviced and maintained by our specialist technicians. You’ll also get a full service history, battery health report, warranty and tune up included.
Employer contributions are an amazing way to reward sustainable commuting! Each company can set their own amount, and you’ll be reimbursed monthly. Ask your HR or benefits team to contact us.
No you can’t subscribe, but you can buy a new or refurbished Tern bike from us if you live outside the operational zones!
We have our operational zones in place for our Lug+Carrie subscription customers so that we can provide a premium service. That includes delivery of your bike by one of our team who will set you up and get you readyto go, free at home servicing and maintenance (or we’ll pick the bike up and drop it back) and Rider Rescue – think roadside assistance but for bikes.
