Yes! All Lug+Carrie eBikes meet all local and international standards for power, speed and pedal assistance. 

The maximum assisted speed of all our eBikes is 25km/h. All our eBikes are pedal assist only and do not have throttles. 

The maximum continuous power output of all of our eBikes is 250 watts.

Yes, you can take your Lug+Carrie eBike on Melbourne trains. Many of our customers use this as a way to break up a longer commute. 

Last year, the Victorian Government reviewed and updated their public transport and safety rules. They do this every ten years and the existing rules expired in 2025

They concluded that safe and legal eBikes like Lug+Carrie’s are absolutely safe to travel on trains. 

At the time, the government banned converted eBikes (standard bicycles with modified aftermarket motor kits).
